Essie's To Buy or Not To Buy is a fairly transparent pale lavender color with blue/purple mini glitter. This polish is very thin and goes on pretty streaky up until the 3rd coat. I used 4 to 5 coats to achieve the even all over color. The glitter really doesn't show up much on the nail either, which was fairly disappointing for me. I do like this color and I am glad that I received it, but for the price I would think it would have a thicker more opaque formula. I'm not sure that I will purchase this polish, but there are colors that I like so you never know, I just might get curious enough to buy it. I am always up for a fun trade though or a giveaway, which is how I got both of the Essie polishes that I have. Here are some pictures and remember that this is with 4 to 5 coats and the color has a bit more of a purple hint to it than appears in the pictures.

ReplyDeleteI really appreciate you taking the time to swatch and review this. I loved it in the bottle but for the price and after hearing how you faired with it, I just dont think I could justify it to myself. Thanks again...not just for this post but for all the great info you share! :)

If you could get it in a trade or cheaper on a blog sale then I'd say go for it. but other than that i'd say no go. :)
